Honda CR-V

When Honda comes out with a new car, you have to take it seriously. And when that new car is the latest update on a car that has already enjoyed considerable success – and has a virtually unrivalled reputation for reliability and durability, you have to take it doubly seriously.

Such is the case with Honda’s all-new CR-V which takes the excellent reputation of its predecessors to new limits.

The new CR-V has long been the world leader in small-crossover SUV innovation, and it has the awards to prove it.

In fact, Edmunds.com named the Honda CR-V a “Top Recommended” vehicle, stating that the CR-V continued to impress with “innovative storage solutions, simple controls, responsive handling, copious interior space and excellent visibility.” We agree.

Edmunds.com, along with the Kelley Blue Book, also named the 2011 Honda CR-V as a best re-sale value winner.

So the latest version of the car has a lot to live up to – but it looks like it won’t disappoint. Its performance is at the top of the scale on virtually every parameter. There are no hybrids in the CR-V range as yet, but with a company with the reputation Honda already enjoys for green, eco-friendly, low emission cars, perhaps one will be along soon?

In any case, the all-new CR-V is an ultra-low-emission vehicle. And there’s plenty else to enjoy about the new SUV. For instance, there’s an easy-to-use lift-up tailgate which makes loading and unloading the CR-V both quick and painless. The car also comes with a stunningly luxurious interior for the price, it’s available with Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System (EX-L), Bluetooth Hands Free Link (EX-L with Navigation), and leather-trimmed interior (EX-L) options.

The exterior of the new 2011 CR-V has also been much refined. The compact, aerodynamic shape has more of a classic, elegant feel than its predecessors – whilst the new CR-V Special Edition (SE) offers 17-inch alloys and privacy glass in the rear.

The engine is a 180-hp DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder, which is extremely fuel-efficient delivering 28 miles per gallon on the highway cycle.

Super Sport Cars Mercedes Benz

Mercedes-Benz can claim to have one of the longest running associations with motor racing than any other automobile manufacturer. Mercedes-Benz claims to have taken part in the very first car race, all the way back in 1894 between Paris and Rouen in France. Hence its relationship with Grand Prix racing is as old as the sport itself.

Now after years as McLaren's engine supplier, Mercedes-Benz will now also step into the ring to fight alone this season, following their November takeover of the Brawn team.

Motor racing became increasingly popular after the World War-I as cars became progressively more powerful and tracks were created, normally on closed public roads. The Nazi regime in Germany had recognised the propaganda value that racing offered and both the Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union teams were encouraged to build the fastest and most exciting cars possible to race against each other.

Those days were a period of intense, dramatic and incredibly dangerous racing. The speed and performance of racing cars was completely unmatched by any safety provisions.

Cool Cars

Some drivers may not be able to afford to buy a brand new car but for those who have just passed and looking for their first car there are plenty of good options. Manufacturers are producing cars that are fuel and energy efficient as pressure from the government and green parties mounts on them to produce more environmentally friendly cars.

Many parents of first time buyers are now helping their children buy a new car as they look to ensure they are safe on the roads. Whether you have deep pockets or are on a budget there are some great cars available. The Hyundai Accent 2010 is a great car for first time drivers and has plenty to offer including a 10 year/100,000m guarantee which is very generous. This 3-door hatchback has a considerable amount of space and more than the majority of other cars in its class. The Hyundai Accent is considered to be an extremely safe and reliable car which makes it perfect for first time drivers.

The Toyota Matrix 2010 is another car that should be looked at and considered by all first time drivers. This is slightly more expensive than the Accent but has some great features that come as standard such as integrated front fog lights. Toyota also has a good reputation for safety and reliability amongst many in the car industry, so all parents can have their minds put at ease.

The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid is one of the best green cars around at the moment and can offer a driver around 41 mpg in and around the city which is fantastic and great for the environment. The Fusion Hybrid also comes with an on-board eco display unit that shows you how to drive more efficiently and get the most out of your car.

There are a range of cars on the market at the moment that suit new drivers so be sure to have a look around and not to simply choose the first one you come across. Make sure you drive carefully as the winter weather will take its toll on UK roads where floods and ice may appear. Be as fuel efficient as you can as petrol prices are on the rise again but most importantly, just enjoy driving and be safe on the roads.
