Google launched an online store in the U.S.

Google reportedly has launched an online music store in the U.S., which allows users to buy the Android operating system, store and play MP3 files.

As preached BBC, company EMI, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal and 23 independent record company is a party that will provide content to create a library of 13 million songs.

Meanwhile, Warner music group is said not to take part.

The service comes as a challenge to the dominance of Apple's iTunes. iTunes helped by the popularity of the iPod.
